Between heritage and renewal
Galerie Platini
For three decades, Galerie Platini has established itself as an exceptional space for contemporary art, where each exhibition becomes a meeting and each opening a shared experience.
Founded in 1994 by Sylvie Platini on the outskirts of Annecy, the family venture has taken on a new dimension in recent years under the joint leadership of Sylvie and her son Alexis, who joined the gallery to refresh its momentum while respecting its heritage.
With three locations—Annecy, Lyon, and Crans-Montana—Galerie Platini is now multiplying initiatives to offer its artists international visibility. Alexis Platini expresses this ambition in a few words: "Our galleries are more than exhibition spaces; they are meeting points where contemporary art directly engages with those who appreciate it."
The year 2024 has been marked by notable events. After their inaugural participation in the ART UP Grenoble fair last March, followed by their presence at the renowned Art Up fair in Lille, the gallery celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Annecy space in October.
This exceptional event brought together thirty iconic artists from the gallery for performances, masterclasses, and round tables, with the support of Annecy Sotheby's International Realty, a partner of the event. "We wanted to create a moment of total immersion, a celebration where everyone could connect with the art and engage directly with the creators," says Alexis.
Next year, the Lyon gallery will celebrate its 10th anniversary with an event worthy of this decade dedicated to artistic discovery. Scheduled for October 2025, this anniversary will once again bring together the artists of Galerie Platini for an intense weekend. Alexis and his team are even planning unique collaborations, with incursions into diverse fields such as gastronomy and cinema, to break down the boundaries between the arts and invite the public to an immersive experience. "Our Lyon gallery embodies our vision of contemporary art rooted in exploration and audacity. This anniversary will be an opportunity to push further by dismantling disciplines to expand the horizons of our audience."
Driven by this momentum, Galerie Platini is already looking ahead to new events and partnerships, confident that contemporary art can reach an ever-expanding audience. Among the major upcoming events, an exceptional exhibition in Lyon will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the collaboration with Jim Drouet, a flagship artist of the gallery, as well as a new participation in the Art Up fair in Lille this February, promising to amplify the reach of this artistic adventure.
