Sotheby's moves into a historic Paris venue

Auction house Sotheby's is moving to 83, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré. More than just a move, the opening of the new Sotheby's galleries marks a tribute to the artistic soul of Paris. This iconic location was once home to the Bernheim-Jeune gallery, a pioneer in modern art, which exhibited works by great artists such as Monet, Van Gogh and Picasso, embodying the artistic avant-garde and creative renewal.

With this legendary address, Sotheby's perpetuates the legacy of modernity while looking to the future. The first ‘Modernités’ sale celebrates this unique balance between tradition and innovation, bringing together modern and contemporary works. By setting up in the heart of the City of Light, Sotheby's is affirming its commitment to promoting art in all its forms and reinforcing Paris' role as the nerve centre of the global art market.

During October and November, Sotheby's galleries will be open at 76 and 83, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré. Please consult the specific information for each sale to find out the exact exhibition and auction venues : www.sothebys.com
